At West Coast Academy, we’ve come to the conclusion that December is basically the Olympics of family chaos. Between the endless gift shopping, baking marathons, and trying to locate the last decent Christmas tree that hasn’t been picked over by every other frantic family in Redruth, we decided that our calendar would be more like a holiday snooze-fest. We thought it was better to let the families enjoy their holiday madness than to add to the frenzy with more events.
Don’t get us wrong—we love a good holiday gathering! But when the only thing getting decorated around here is our snack table, we’ve learned to embrace the beauty of low expectations. Instead of cramming in more activities, we’re opting for a zen approach to Christmas: fewer events, more family couch time, and absolutely zero attempts at assembling gingerbread houses that end up looking like they were hit by a snowstorm. This year, we’re here for the chaos, the laughter, and the occasional Christmas movie marathon in our pajamas!
So, while other places are hosting Xmas performances and nativities, we’ll be taking a breather and saving our energy for a jam-packed lineup of fun in the new year. December may be for holiday cheer, but January is for new beginnings—like getting back into training and showing off those new skills you’ve achieved for your parents/carers! At West Coast Academy, we believe in kicking off the new year with lighter evenings, brighter spirits, and a calendar that’s bursting at the seams—but only after the mince pies are all gone!
